A 50,000 watt station, KCTX 96.1 FM covers a large area of northwest Texas and southwest Oklahoma with country music from the '70s through today. We have farm blocks at 6am and noon focused on agricultural markets, industry developments, and agricultural news. We're well known for longtime live call-in trade program "The Trading Post," we offer ABC News and weather updates at the top of every hour, sports news throughout the day, local news updates, and lots of localized programming. Seasonally, we offer play-by-play of area high school sporting events, and we are the Dallas Cowboys affiliate for the region.
HISTORY
Here's a little history of 96.1 FM. The station was assigned the call letters KQAI on April 5, 1984. On September 29, 1986, the station changed its call sign to KSRW,. Then on February 23, 2001, the call sign changed to the current KCTX.
